Never Give Up...........Never Surrender
So, I was thinking last night. I didn't do well this last week. In fact I gained 1.5 pounds. However, all is not lost. (no pun intended). There is still 17 weeks left in the diet challenge. If I/we loose 1.5 pounds each week for the next 17 weeks, I/we will be 25.5 pounds thinner. WOW!! Just think how great we would look. If I/we loose 2 pounds each week, I/we would be down 34 pounds. Just imagine how happy we would be. It is not too late to have great success. :) :)
Extra points if you know the movie the title of this post came from, and you can quote another line from the movie.

P.S. I will make sure Elise posts all of the info and updates on this current weight loss challenge.

Workout
So, I hardly ever have a spare minute to work out- I don't know how it is for you guys, but I certainly find it hard to squeeze one in. That's why I've decided to try as hard as I can to turn everyday tasks into a workout. Mowing the lawn, for example. It's an alright workout, but if you don't use the drive lever and run with the lawn mower, it turns into a great workout! Not only are you getting a cardio workout from the running, but your legs and arms are getting stronger from it as well. : ) Mowing season is probably over in most other areas of the world, but there are many more things that we do every day that could easily be turned into a workout. So lift your stack of plates a few times before you put them away, do crunches during commercials, or whatever else you can think of. Power to the ordinary!!! : )

Re-commit
This is what I have felt like for the last two weeks... Do any of you share my sentiments?
Well even if you don't, I hope you got a laugh out of it. I think it's time for all of us to re-commit. I am definitely hitting that "worn out" phase. It's time for all of us to step it up a notch. We can do this!!!! We are going to kick this next week's booty!!! (And Mom and I are not going to eat any more Pirates Booty- that stuff is addictive...) This week I think we should all post a healthy recipe on the blog for everyone to try. It doesn't necessarily have to be an amazing recipe- it could just be a healthy snack idea or something like that. Or just whatever you please! : ) I want everyone to get posting so that we have more of a support group available for each other. Post your successes, your failures, your fun ideas, and your great work-outs! We want to hear it all!!! : )

Update!!!
We have another new member!!! Bethany Nyholm! Welcome to the fitness challenge! This just keeps getting to be more and more fun!!! :) Bethany has some crazy little monkeys she has to run around after all day long, so she will definitely be burning lots of calories doing that! Be prepared to be passed up ladies!! (Well, unless we pass on that cheesecake.)
In other news- Railee has proven herself to be infinitely more clever than myself, and we will now be calling ourselves by her wonderfully witty alliteration: The Simmerin' Slim Seven! I am liking this group more every minute. :)

The Newbie. Lisa Kent.
Hey! I'm Lisa Kent! Elise said I could join you all in this lovely challenge. I'm excited for this but I am worried I won't have a lot of time to work out. I'm a full time student and I work part time. I do a lot of sitting so hopefully having this little support group will help me make the time to be active and eat healthy! Thanks folks!
